Scott Duncan

Campaign Committee

Scott Duncan has led business units and created best-in-class leadership development programs for more than 30 years. He has traveled the globe, engaging leaders in some of the world’s leading universities, financial services and entertainment organizations. Scott was Senior Vice President and General Manager at the Capital Group Companies, home of the American Funds with over $2T in assets. During his nearly quarter-century career at Capital, Scott led a number of global business units, including investment operations and customer service units, and was responsible for creating the leadership framework and development program for all leaders worldwide. Scott helps businesses, nonprofits and college students improve communication and ignite innovation by hosting Imagine That!, a fun, interactive learning experience structured as a classic game show. Creativity has always been Scott’s passion and it was at one point his job: He worked as a screenwriter in Hollywood, with numerous projects in development at major studios and two feature films released in theaters. Scott is a graduate of Cornell University, an Eagle Scout, and an enthusiastic amateur drummer. He is proud to be the immediate past Chairman of two nonprofit boards (WHRO Public Media and the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art), and Vice Chairman of a third (Cape Henry Collegiate School). But Scott is by far most proud of his two children, Miles (Champlain ’22) and Elena, and his amazing wife of 36 years, Christina.
